David Olle in France - Tour de France 2009 preview July 2, 2009David Olle in France, French number +33 663 25 65 82, anytime. Tour de France 2009 preview The 2009 Tour de France starts this Saturday in Monaco. 199 riders representing 30 countries are entered, and for the first time Japanese cyclists are competing (not just one, but two) After commencing in Monaco the race visits Barcelona (Spain), Andorra, the Pyrenees, slides around the Grand-Massif Central, pops into Switzerland, takes a twist in the alps to Italy and has it’s penultimate day in Provence, on the ‘infamous’ Mont Ventoux before finishing on the Champs Elysses in Paris.
It’s really more of an upside down treble clef than a circle this year. 3,500k, running July 4 – 26.
Skippy Report: Seven skinny little Australians are lining up with the world’s skinniest ‘best’ to contest the world’s most prized cycling event. We have sprinters, ‘Roulers’ (all-rounders), Time Trial Specialists and even two GC (General Classification) contenders, Michael Rogers & Cadel Evans. We also have three not so skinny Team Directors in management positions, so we are well represented in all areas at this year’s Grand Boucle.
Lance Report: He’s racing and in good form with ideal preparation….watch him. (well, with the amount of press he attracts, you won’t be able to NOT watch him, so I don’t know why I wrote that)
Cuisine Report: at the moment, just loving the Chartreuse and avoiding the Pastis.

Freecaster.tv for LIVE NISSAN UCI MTB World Cup XCO Madrid Spain May 22, 2009Boasting 1800 hectares, the "Casa de Campo" has become a haven for the population of Madrid. Created in 1560, it became a public park in 1931, and today, thanks to it’s vicinity to the capital city, it is an extremely popular spot for rest and entertainment.
The Mountain Bike World Cup race will be organised by Last Lap, who has been involved in more World Cup events than any other European organiser. In 1995, Last Lap organised its first XCO World Cup Race at the "Casa de Campo" in Madrid, attracting 60,000 spectators.
As there are no mountain ranges near the centre of Madrid, the climbing on this course will be made up of numerous short sharp ascents. The 7km course will naturally be fast, but also technically challenging.
Freecaster.tv will be broadcasting the NISSAN UCI MTB World Cup XCO LIVE on Sunday May 24 at 10:00 CEST.
